West Coast Road Trip [Travel]

December 20, 2014

When my husband decided to take his family on a road trip from Kansas to California and back, I thought he was crazy! Drive to California and stop almost every place in between? I thought that I’d rather take a flight there instead! My husband followed through with his dream of taking his family on a road trip. He put aside two weeks and drove from Kansas City and back with stops in Denver, Estes Park, Salt Lake City, Yosemite National Park, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas! Since I have already been to Colorado and most parts of California and also only had one week of vacation left, I decided to fly in to Los Angeles and meet up with the rest of the group there.

On my flight to Los Angeles, I got to see the Grand Canyon from above. It was seriously so humbling. When I arrived in Los Angeles we went to several beaches including Huntington Beach, Long Beach, and Malibu Beach. When we went to San Diego, we enjoyed our time at La Jolla cove. The color of the water at La Jolla was simply spectacular. When we drove to Las Vegas, I was amazed by the scenery on the road. We went through Death Valley and there was multiple rainbows, dust storms, sun, and rain all at the same moment. We arrived to Las Vegas and to my surprise, it was really fun! There was so much to see when we walked through the Vegas Strip! My favorite moment was driving back through various parts of Utah. The mountains were amazing. The rest stops were so serene! Driving back through Colorado was also amazing, especially driving through the mountains. Unfortunately, the drive back through Kansas was the most boring 8 hours of the whole trip. Aside from that, everything else was interesting to see! My husband was right after all! We wouldn’t have been able to see all of the beauty of nature if we just hopped on a flight. Going through the mountains and seeing different parts of the states was amazing.

Here are a few images from the trip! 🙂
