US Virgin Islands [travel]

December 4, 2015

On the third port day of our cruise (see part 1 in Grand Turk and part 2 in Puerto Rico), we arrived to Charlotte Amalie in the island of St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands, also seen in my eyes as heaven on hearth! The Virgin Islands has been on the top of our lists of places to travel to, so my husband and I were super excited and grateful when we arrived! We followed the crowds into an area with buses that took tourists to their desired location for the day. From prior research, my husband and I were thinking that we would like to go to either Coki Beach or Trunk Bay Beach that is located in the neighboring island of St. John for the day. A friendly tourist saw us in confusion, and told us that he was going to Trunk Bay and that he heard it was amazing. He helped us decide and we chose to go to Trunk Bay!

We hopped into an open air bus that drove for about 40 minutes between Charlotte Amalie to Red Hook where there was a fairy that took us from St.Thomas to a near and more pristine island called St. Johns. At St.John, we took another taxi to Trunk Bay Beach and paid a $4 entry fee when we arrived. As soon as I laid my eyes on the perfect crystal clear blue water, I felt like I was in a dream!

Trunk Bay Beach has perfect white sand which felt like powdered sugar between our toes. The beach was surrounded with lush palm trees and foliage. The water was simply perfect with slight waves and absolutely no rocks or debris under the water, just beautiful fish swimming between us. We were simply in heaven! We spent our day at Trunk Bay Beach and headed back to the cruise ship when we ran out of time. The US Virgin Islands is definitely one of our favorite places in the world. See the pictures below and let me know what you think! 🙂
