Marmaris and Fethiye, Turkey | Family Trip | Part II

March 17, 2020

On the second half of our family trip to Turkey, we took a flight to the Marmaris area and stayed there for a few days. After Marmaris, we also went south to another area called Fethiye. I was truly amazed by Fethiye and dubbed it as one of my favorite places to visit!!

Fethiye is a port city on the southwestern beautiful blue coast. There were amazing mountains that looked so gorgeous in real life – photos don’t do it any justice! What I loved the most was all the fresh fruits growing on the trees. It’s always been my dream to see pomegranate trees and my dreams came true on this trip! They were everywhere!!!

In my opinion, Marmaris and Fethiye are both absolutely beautiful! Marmaris is more of a party town filled with tourists lounging on the beach and filled with loud bars and cafes. Where as the area we stayed in near Fethiye was so cute and friendly. There is a beach near Fethiye called Oludeniz that also has the restaurants and tourists as well but our Airbnb was in a small quiet neighborhood. I loved my quiet morning walks near the water and having my son play at the local playground, feeling as if we were locals.

This was the view outside of our rental home in a quiet neighborhood in Fethiye, Turkey.
My favorite thing to eat while in Turkey – Lahmacun – Meat pies! So yummy and the best part is they are only about $2-3 USD!

We went on a island boat tour which includes a day of fun in the sun to multiple stops at different islands off the coast. You can book these trips off the streets.

Paragliding is very popular in Fethiye. I would have loved to do it but we ran out of time anddd my family was scared for me.
Beautiful pomegranate trees in Fethiye, Turkey.
