On the weekend of October 10th & 11th, I had the great pleasure of photographing Rouf & Madiha’s beautiful henna party and wedding that took place at the Overland Park Marriott. The henna party was filled with lots of bright colors, dancing, and laughter. However, for privacy reasons, the henna party is not featured on this blog.
Following the henna party, the next afternoon was a perfect sunny October day. I met up with the bride and groom at the Overland Park Marriott to capture them as they got ready for their big day. Every little detail was captured and I especially love the detail shots of Rouf & Madiha’s gorgeous wedding rings. Madiha’s bridal outfit was stunning, red in color, with lots of intricate beading. The grooms traditional suite looked crisp and fresh, perfect for their special day. My favorite part about capturing Indian/Desi/Pakistani style weddings is capturing all the details and especially the henna that is placed on the brides hands and feet.
After the bride and groom finished getting ready, we went out to capture their first look. The bride & groom enjoyed their first glances at each other. We then went out to a nearby garden and took some unique wedding photos. Some of the photos can be seen here, but most of the photos are kept private. I just love capturing the special moments before the reception that is shared with the bride and groom.
The reception took place inside, with special hor dourves served outside in the corridor. The reception space was huge and grandiose, with a magnificent stage step up. The bride and groom made their grand entrances with their family, which was then followed by family speeches. The buffet opened which consisted of a long array of tasty Indian food. Followed by dinner was the cake cutting. The cake looked so classy and was so scrumptious. The night ended with family giving their farewells to the bride and groom.
I had an amazing time photographing this wedding! I wish Rouf & Madiha a life filled with lots of love and happiness! 🙂
