I had so much fun working with Laila + Salim for their two-day mixed Indian and Pakistani wedding! On Friday night, they had a pithi ceremony at Eagles Landing at Lake Olathe! During the pithi ceremony – the family and friends of the bride and groom shower them with gifts and love. They have some fun and put “pithi” which is a paste made of turmeric, rose water, and other ingredients which is then applied to the bride + grooms face/arms/and body to cleanse and purify them before their official wedding ceremony and reception.
Salim’s friends had a little bit too much fun and started throwing eggs/rice/and a lot of fun confetti! The night was very colorful and vibrant!!
Here are a few images from the beautiful pithi/haldi ceremony!
