Salim & Rozeena [Wedding]

I had an amazing time photographing Salim and Rozeena’s wedding events. The first night, the traditional Indian pithi ceremony took place where a paste, known as pithi, was rubbed on the bride and grooms face. This paste is made out of yellow turmeric and a mix of ingredients that are said to make skin look brighter and prettier for the wedding day. Well, the bride and groom sure looked beautiful! The second day, I came to their house to photograph them in their backyard, as well as go to the mosque to do the official marriage. Lots of family and friends joined in on the fun. Lastly, the official wedding reception started late that night at the Matt Ross Community Center. I felt like a part of the family by the end of the two days of festivities! These two are so in love and I wish them a life time of happiness.

  • Nasim - OMG. MASHALLAH YOUR PICS ARE STUNNING! I’ve spent about an hour looking at all of your pictures! What camera do you use? And when you do the shoots how do you figure out what poses the people should do?ReplyCancel

  • Mariam Saifan Photography - Nasim, thank you so much! I really appreciate the kind words and am happy you like my photography! I use a Canon 50D. I really like to shoot in a natural way at weddings, so that the couple could just enjoy themselves. However, I also do the posed pictures before the weddings. I always look at other photographers that I admire, and try to get inspired. I also write down any ideas that I have and try them out before I forget them. Thank you so much. Please share the page and feel free to ask any other questions!ReplyCancel
