Half Moon Cay, Bahamas [travel]

January 12, 2016

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas! Need I say more? The water surrounding this island is simply perfect! On the last port of call on our Holland America cruise (See part 1 in Grand Turk, part 2 in San Juan, and part 3 in St.Thomas), we went to this privately owned deserted island, shaped like a crescent, which is located about 100 miles southeast of Nassau, Bahamas. The port is very delicate and we had to be tendered to the island by a smaller boat. The island is also an international bird sanctuary and only two perfect of the island is developed.

We signed up for a jet skiing excursion which toured around the stunning lagoon. In the shallow waters, we could see fish and gorgeous coral reef under our jet skis. It was a thrilling ride!

I’d definitely recommend stopping by at Half Moon Cay if you’re looking at a cruise with this port stop! 🙂
